The Nets outperformed the Boston Celtics with a score of 123: 95 (26:22, 25:32, 35:23, 37:18) to celebrate their second success in the second game of the season.

Kurucs joined the game two minutes and 30 seconds before the end of regular time, when the scoreboard reported 116: 95 in favor of “Nets”. During this time, Cēsis made one inaccurate long shot, won one rebounded ball and came to one note.

With 37 points, eight assists and six rebounds, Curry Irving stood out against his former team, taking seven of ten long shots. Kevins Durents also scored 29 points in the Nets ranks.

Jane Brown scored 27 points for the hosts and Jason Teutum added 20 points, both of whom scored eight rebounds.

Although both teams threw about the same number of long shots (29/27), the Nets basketball players were much more accurate, hitting 15 “thirds” in the basket, and the Celtics players only eight. The guests were also much more accurate from the penalty line (26/31 vs. 13/19).

The New Yorkers started the game with a small breakthrough 10: 4 and were in the lead for almost the entire first quarter. In the second half, the leadership changed several times, but neither team managed to gain a significant advantage, beating the Bostonians in the first 24 minutes with 54:51.

In the third quarter of the match, under the care of Durent and Irving, “Nets” made two breakthroughs (11: 2 and 9: 0), which allowed them to strengthen their lead, but at the beginning of the fourth quarter, the guests gained 16 points (95:79). In the continuation of the quarter, the guests held a stable lead, winning a safe victory.

Two and a half minutes before the final whistle, Steve Nash put Kuruc on the field and four other basketball players, who had been watching the match from the reserve bench.

The Celtics have played 33 times so far this Christmas, behind the Knicks in New York (53) and the Lakers in Los Angeles (46).

The Nets, which started the season with two wins in a row, will end the small trip on Sunday when Charlotte will compete with the local Hornets.

It is planned to play 72 games in the NBA Main Event, which is ten less than usual.

The league has started the season without spectators present in the arenas, as the restrictions of the coronavirus prohibit larger public gatherings in the premises.
