KOMPAS.com – FIFA as the highest football parent has released the latest ranking list on Thursday (10/12/2020).

In a FIFA release quoted from Reuters, the Belgian national team is still the best team at the moment.

They topped the FIFA rankings with a collection of 1,780 points, 25 points ahead of world champions France.

This achievement cannot be separated from the slick performance of the Belgian national team which is now coached by Roberto Martinez.

Together with Roberto Martinez, Belgium has won six of the eight international matches throughout 2020.

Meanwhile, there are no significant changes in the top four of FIFA’s rankings.

Under Belgium and France, there are Brazil and England, which respectively maintain third and fourth rank.

The rank shift began to appear in the fifth to seventh places.

Portugal moved up to fifth, while Spain (sixth) and Argentina (seventh) moved up two places compared to last year.

Furthermore, Hungary became the team that showed the most progress.

They are now in 40th place, moving up 12 places after winning 44 points throughout 2020.

Marco Rossi’s squad has only lost one defeat in the eight international matches they have played this year.

Meanwhile, Indonesia is still stuck at 173th place.

The Garuda national team has similar points to Cambodia, and lags behind Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, which are fellow Southeast Asian countries.

Vietnam, which has the best ranking among Southeast Asian countries, is in 93rd place with a collection of 1,258 points.

Launch from Reuters, the number of international matches in 2020 has decreased due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2019, there were 1,082 international matches, while this year there were only 352 matches. The number of international matches this year is the lowest since 1987.
