Rafa Nadal’s superiority at Roland Garros is a practically unprecedented dominance in the sport. The Spaniard has reached a whopping 100 victories in the French tournament for just two losses suffered. With his victory in the 2020 edition, Nadal equaled Roger Federer’s 20 Grand Slams in one of the best sporting moments of the year.
After his victory, a phrase left by Nicolás Almagro in 2008 went viral, stating that Rafa “was going to win Roland Garros 40 years in a row” and that he will even “turn 65 and will continue to win Roland Garros. There were also numerous montages of Nadal lifting the trophy with gray hair and an older face.
What nobody came up with is what was going to happen once the Spanish won the contest, until now. The Twitter account ‘We Are Tennis’ has shared the video ‘Rafa Nadal after winning his 38th Roland Garros title in 2050’, in which he is characterized as a 64-year-old person offering a press conference after his victory.

“I have played at a great level and this Roland Garros has a special value for me,” says the fictional Nadal in the video. Despite the difficulty of this situation, Daniil Medvedev knows that if there is someone capable, it is Spanish and he wanted to joke about it. “Maybe by 2050 I can win a first edition of Roland Garros,” he tweeted.
