While the Government has announced the date of January 20, the FFF is fighting for a resumption of training from December 15.

Last Thursday, amateur football was disillusioned after the announcements of Jean Castex. The Prime Minister had indeed announced that collective sports for adults were prohibited until January 20. As we indicated, this announcement had surprised until the French Football federation since the discussions with Matignon rather indicated a resumption on November 28, under conditions, or on December 15.

But the federal body continues to fight on a daily basis so that seniors can resume training in 2020. Discussions take place daily in order to influence the Government. This was confirmed to us by the Ministry of Sports, indicating that there was a “Review clause” for December 15th. This is confirmed by a source close to the FFF specifying that Jean-Michel Blanquer, the Minister of National Education, Youth and Sports, would be in favor of this resumption of training.

The subject raised on Thursday at the defense council

In his speech on November 24, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron insisted on the fact that “On December 15, if we have reached around 5,000 contaminations per day and around 2,500 to 3,000 people in intensive care, we will be able to move on to a new stage”. Monday, November 30, according to government figures, France recorded 4,005 new cases of Covid-19 while 3,751 patients were in intensive care. That is to say that the objectives requested by the Head of State are almost achieved.

According to several sources, the subject will be discussed Thursday morning during the defense council. However, one should be careful because nobody expected the Prime Minister’s announcement on November 26 about the date of January 20. But on the side of the FFF, the forcing continues so that all players in amateur football can find the land as quickly as possible … which could avoid a cancellation of the Coupe de France!
