Tabasco 2020 Youth and Sports Awards are delivered

Villahermosa tabasco.- By endorsing the commitment of State Goverment with the development and well-being of Tabasco youth, the Secretary of Education (Setab), Egla Cornelius Landero, gave awards to the winners of the State Award for Sports and Youth, in its edition 2020.

Representing the governor Adam Augusto López Hernández, the state official congratulated the winners, who reaffirmed the responsibility that the Government of Tabasco has to build a better youth.

“The State Government through the Injudet (Institute of Youth and Sports of Tabasco) promotes the interest of young people so that the well-being, integral development and protection of the youth sector prevail, fulfilling the responsibility of fostering, promoting and stimulate culture and sports “, highlighted Cornelio Landero.

In a complicated year, due to the pandemic of COVID-19, exhorted young people to be agents of change, to transform society, recover values ​​and create a better Tabasco.

In front of the young people and authorities who gathered in the auditorium of the Colegio de Bachilleres Plantel Number 1, Miguel Ángel Contreras Verdugo, general director of Injudet, highlighted the example of work and discipline of young athletes, to achieve their goals and fulfill their objectives.

“Today we are gathered to recognize the talent, together with the discipline of our young people and athletes, who have made one of the noblest human aspirations, a personal achievement that we share joyfully”, he expressed.

Contreras Verdugo praised the proposals of the young winners, as well as the dedication of the athletes: “it is an honor and great satisfaction to deliver the Sports and Youth Award in its various categories, to those who have spent hours of training in search of transcendence and those who seek and have achieved a positive change in their environment or community ”.

For his part, the judo teacher Marco Antonio Pegueros Lara, awarded as Best Coach 2020, thanked the authorities of the Injudet and from the State Government, the recognition of his person and his colleagues, for so many years of effort, work and dedication.

“We are pleased because it is judo that is spreading, I thank the media and the institute, because this award is for the boys and girls who practice judo, for the parents and the team of coaches that we make up”shared.

On the occasion, Rosaura del Carmen Osorio Hernández also expressed her happiness at the recognition with the Youth Award in the Human Rights category, after the work carried out through the Tabasco Women Collective.

“We received this award with great enthusiasm, and as an organization we are very pleased with this legitimization of the women’s struggle. We have carried out several crusades in favor of complaints of sexual harassment and harassment towards university students, and we intend to create a protocol of attention to victims and prevention in the UJAT and other universities in Tabasco “, he indicated.

The ceremony was attended by Gary Leonardo Arjona Rodríguez, Undersecretary of Sustainability and Climate Change of the Ministry of Welfare, and the Director of Campus 1, Gener Flores Acosta.
