Stefanos Tsitsipas makes his way onto a list of elite celebrities

As 2020 draws to a close, tennis superstars are not only ruling tennis awards, but accepting global recognition as well. There has been good news for world number 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas.

His fans are also delighted after receiving the great news. Tsitspas finished 57th on the list of the 100 most beautiful faces of 2020. This is the second time he has made it to the elite list.

The 22-year-old Greek player is curiously way ahead even of some of the actors like Chris Evans and Lucas Bravo. Therefore, it is a great achievement for the player. Tsitsipas was able to fight his way through 135,000 male celebrities and over a million public nominations.

What was even more incredible was that he worked his way up the list by beating some 300 men who were there on the list of 400 chosen nominees. Famous Youtuber Felix Kjellberg, popularly known as ‘Pewdiepie’, was number 1 on the list this time.

This is the sixth time it has been on the list.

Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2020

It’s been a reverse year for Tsitsipas. Although he performed really well, he choked on the crucial stages of the tournament.

He didn’t get off to a great start as he was eliminated from the group stage of the 2020 ATP Cup. He took a big hit at the 2020 Australian Open where Milos Raonic defeated him in straight sets in the third round.

After the tragic start, he finally got into his shape and gained momentum. The Open 13 was the only tournament he won in 2020 by beating Felix Auger Aliassime in the final. He was able to reach the final of the Dubai Tennis Championship, but lost to Novak Djokovic in the final.

The US Open 2020 was again a disaster where Borna Coric defeated him in a close match in the third round. After that, Tsitsipas played very well at the 2020 French Open. He made it to the Slam semifinals and gave Djoker a tough fight there, but lost the last set.

Although he failed to win many titles, Tsitsipas proved that he was one of the players who had the potential to beat the best of his day. Tsitsipas will begin his 2021 campaign at the 2021 Australian Open in Melbourne. Will he be able to win his first Grand Slam title in 2021?
