Luis Scola this Saturday dismissed rumors of a possible retirement from the activity at the end of the year, warning that at Varese, Italy, he has a “good time and is having fun.”

“I have a good time at Varese and have fun. I still haven’t resolved anything about my retirement,” the 40-year-old power forward told the local newspaper ‘La Prealpina’.

“It is the perfect situation for this stage of my career,” said the top scorer in history of the selected ‘Albicelestes’, referring to his permanence in the Varese team (4-5 record), with whom he only disputes the Italian League first division (Legabasket).

“Playing just one game a week allows me to enjoy it a lot and sustain a higher pace,” said the former Toronto Raptors, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers, all from the NBA.

“Right now I don’t like to travel so much and I feel that the opportunity to connect with Varese allows me to stay mostly with my family and rest my body,” explained Scola.

The Italian League scorer, with an average of 22.9 points per game, also allowed himself to think about his future and slipped that there is “the possibility of staying two or three years in Varese and then evaluating what to do beyond basketball” , said.

However, Scola clarified that “I have not yet resolved anything about my retirement and the subsequent options will be evaluated later,” he said.

Varese, a team led by Massimo Bulleri, will face the leader Armani Milano (9-0) tomorrow, starting at 5.30 local (13.30 in Argentina), for the tenth matchday.

Otros encuentros programados para mañana son: Treviso-Pesaro (Carlos Delfino and Ariel Filloy); Reyer Venezia (Bruno Cerella) -Trentino (Andrés Forray); Virtus Bologna-Banco di Sardegna Sassari; Reggio Emilia-Cremona and Brindisi-San Bernardo Cantú.
