Real Madrid Learns Matthijs De Ligt’s Release Clause at Juventus

Matthijs de Ligt seems to be a transfer target for Real Madrid, which is currently studying a clause in the defender’s contract at Juventus.

Real Madrid are reportedly exploring the potential of bringing in potential defender Juventus and the Dutch national team, Matthijs de Ligt.

The whites is said to have studied the talented youngster’s contract, which includes a sizeable release clause in Turin.

Italian football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Zinedine Zidane’s club is currently preparing to fulfill de Ligt’s € 150 million release clause.

However, Madrid must wait patiently for the next 18 months for the clause to take effect.

Starting July 2022, de Ligt’s contract will carry a release clause worth € 150 million, which runs until his contract expires in 2024.

At the start of his career at Allianz Stadium, de Ligt adapted quite slowly, but he has slowly found his best form under coach Andrea Pirlo.

Before joining Juventus, de Ligt was widely linked with Barcelona. However, the current issue is that the Blaugrana’s rivals, Madrid, will try to recruit de Ligt.

“At the age of 17 he has become the captain of Ajax. Ajax, you understand?” de Ligt agent Mino Raiola insisted on Tuttosport this week.

“Bayern Munich and Barcelona were chasing him. However, we think Juventus is the ideal club for him. Today, I can say that this choice was the right choice,” said Raiola.

The 21-year-old defender has made 45 appearances in all competitions for Juve since joining last season. He has scored four goals in that period.
