Puymirol started well, the Boétiennes too

Five teams in all have entered the Regional 2 championship this year. Three teams for men and two for women. Obviously, the games played are fewer and therefore offer little visibility on a divide ranking, but even so some teams have already stood out. This is particularly the case of the US Puymirolaise. Four meetings, three victories, including one in the derby on the side of Agen while the inaugural meeting lost by four points in the Landes could have allowed the Lot-et-Garonnais to achieve a “perfect”. However, their second place is not stolen, on the contrary, as the collective perceived at the start of the season is pleasing. The second part of the season promises to be very interesting.

Just like for the ABLA 2 which won only one of its first three matches. The last defeat on October 17 (105-55) in Eyres in the Landes cast doubt on people’s minds. From now on, it will be a question of rediscovering this enthusiasm, both offensive and defensive, to start the second. The finding is a little less negative for the Samazanais in Pool D. Indeed, they could only play two games because of the virus and therefore have a mixed record of a victory for a defeat. We will still remember this victory snatched from a point in Mont-de-Marsan which must have given balm to the heart of this team.

Women’s basketball is doing well

For girls, only two teams are entered in RF2. The Boé-Bon-Encontre agreement already worked wonders in the first matches. Indeed, in four meetings, they are undefeated and have won each game quite easily. Excellent cohesion in this young team and above all consistency in the field. This leadership position is well deserved. Now, the Boétiennes will be expected everywhere and now present themselves as the scarecrow of the hen. A status that must now be assumed, with ambition but humility.

The beginnings were, however, more complicated for the Foulayronnaises. Two wins, two losses. Maintenance being the main objective, the performance acquired should not be neglected. With this seriousness and this application, the results will come quickly.

Two months ago, the regional basketball championships were interrupted due to the second wave of Covid-19. Here is a little feedback on the nice surprises (or not) of the start of the season.

Elusive Villeneuve, the VAB in the hard

If no team is engaged in the girls in Regional 3, twelve teams are in the men, divided into three different groups. The results have so far been satisfactory overall.

Pool D: Everything was off to a good start …

Five teams are entered in this pool this season. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 went through there and three teams from the Bordeaux region could not play any meeting, which ditched the start of the championship. This is why Boudy, Seyches, Marmande and Penne were only able to play two out of four games. And in this game, it is the last cities who have succeeded in winning twice at home by more than thirty points. The Penns are therefore on track to have a good season, hoping that this period has not put lead in the wing of the workforce. The same goes for the Villeneuvois, leading the hen (3/3). They simply crushed their last two opponents and also won a derby in Seyches.

Pool E: Mixed results for Le Port and Sérignac

The Sérignacais are in reconstruction this season. With the appointment of Aziz El Hajji at the head of the pennant team, José Ruiz thinks he has made a great find. Still, his players have lost twice at the start of the season but also achieved two good performances. Already by beating the VAB at home with a lot of serenity and a collective that is being set up. Then by inflicting the first defeat of the season on leader Amou Bonnegarde. This cut therefore does not benefit the Lilacs, just as it does not benefit the Portais. Indeed, the latter remain on a good dynamic. A wide victory in the VAB and a last more than interesting against Haut-Mauco while, on the third day, the feat did not go far to Horsarrieu’s side (81-79 defeat).

Finally, the VAB 2 is the dunce of the hen for the moment. Red Lantern with four defeats and above all a fairly worrying level of play offered so far … The record is hard but nothing is impossible, it will be necessary to hang on to the end.

Pool G: The intractable Gab, solid Puymirol

In this group, the last four teams have made an interesting start to the season. Even very interesting for the Meilhanais. Indeed, Gab 2 could not have started better, with three wins in as many games. Two at home and one at Larrivière which did a lot of good to the heads. By showing that they can be exported, the Gabists have also sent a message to the other teams: the ambitions are real this season. Same story for the Puymirolais who have lost a meeting. Nevertheless, the Lot-et-Garonnais appear in second position in the standings thanks to three successes.

Finally, the AGS and Le Temple are on a mixed record of two wins for two losses. However, these are two teams capable of considering the top of the table, provided they take it seriously.
