After five years of abstinence, Felix Sturm shows that he can still be expected. In the boxing ring, he doesn’t give his opponent a chance. Whether Sturm’s career will pick up again, however, is in the stars.

Profiboxer Felix Sturm has made a successful comeback. Almost five years after his last fight, the 41-year-old ex-world champion defeated the twelve-year-old Timo Rost from Düsseldorf unanimously on points (110: 90, 99:91, 100: 93) in the Universum Gym in Hamburg on Saturday evening.

Both boxers had agreed on an upper weight limit of 77.5 kilograms. The limit is between super middle and light heavyweight. Sturm was clearly superior to his overwhelmed rival. The man from Düsseldorf was not a real definition of where he was. In Sturm’s match record there are now 41 wins in 50 professional fights. Rost suffered the first defeat in the 13th fight, two duels ended in a draw.

The former world champion in the middle and super middleweight division was sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion and doping in April of this year. On the other hand, he went into revision. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
