Vice President of FC Porto, Vitor Baia, emphasized that his team is not afraid of Juventus. That’s because Porto and the Bianconeri are on the same level.
Drawing in the last 16 of the Champions League brings Juventus to Porto. The Bianconeri will travel to Porto first on February 17, 2021, then change to host the Portuguese team on March 9.
Porto appeared stable in the last group phase, qualifying as Group C runners-up behind Manchester City. The team made by Sergio Conceicao won four wins, one draw and only one defeat from six matchdays.
Porto’s only defeat was against Manchester City. On the other hand, Juventus won Group G with five wins and were head to head ahead of Barcelona.
Juventus will be in a position as the superior team. However, Porto is not afraid of the team from the city of Turin because they are equal in the highest title in the European arena.
Porto won the Champions League twice in 1986/1987 and 2003/2004. Juventus also twice, namely in 1984/1985, 1995/1996.
“Juventus is one of the best in the world. Juventus are two times European champions, we are two times European champions too, in terms of our title balance, but finances are different. We are not afraid and we are confident,” Baia said as quoted from Porto’s official website. .
Porto will not give up before the game is complete. The Portuguese club will do everything possible to keep going.
“We are basically optimistic and confident. We no longer have a chance when the final whistle sounds,” Baia confirmed about the draw against Juventus.
