This Sunday, December 27, it will be played at the Zarzuela Racecourse the fourth of the five magical days where Christmas will be the protagonist.
On this day, from the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela, the work carried out by the Querer Foundation, with different projects and its research to help children with learning and educational difficulties, derived from neurological diseases, will be recognized with separate Awards, and the Save The Children Foundation that protects more than 10,000 children worldwide at risk of social exclusion, refugee camps and other difficult situations for their development.
The Fashion and Accessories Markets continue with the presence of Foundations that provide a commendable work in the fight for different causes.
Of course, you cannot miss the gastronomic offer throughout the race day: the Cervecistas room, foodtrucks and the bars in our gardens to have a snack or eat outdoors.
THE DAY
In this exciting day, five races will be held, all on the fiber and sand track, starting at 12:30 pm.
The day will begin with Argüero Award, for 2-year-old foals and fillies that have not won two races, over a distance of 1,900 meters. Four participants, in the starting boxes. A priori the race should be a heads-up between Brujilda and Hayedo. The first has more experience, is a winner and has been at the finish in four of his five starts, you have to beat it. The second race will be the Querer Foundation Award, split handicap first part, for horses and mares 3 years and older, in a sprint of 1,200 meters. Five copies will depart at the orders of the Start Judge. Very well done handicap, in which the five participants have their option, being able to see a spectacular final stretch, with the winner by photograph. Anyway, my favorite is going to be So Hi Storm, I think it will be very difficult that it is not in the top two. Billycock Hill and Battle of Waterloo, I think they will be their main rivals.
In third place the Jesús Méndez Award, for 3 year old colts and fillies that have not won. Nine contenders for victory, 1,700 meters of travel. Tosca is the one that has come closest to passing as winners, being second twice. She has been re-engaged, so for me she is the main favorite. Tales always wears out too much on the tours, losing all option. He has changed his preparation and if he were calmer during the journey it would be very dangerous, much more is expected from his origin. Karluvy has been positioning himself and here he will be very close. Another one that could run very well is Melampo, he was close to getting paid in his last outing and here he has a nice opportunity for progress.
The fourth race will be the Premio Save The Children, Lototurf support, double handicap second part, for horses and mares 3 years and older, also in a sprint of 1,200 meters. Ten participants in the starting boxes. The two that I like the most are Percy Green and the re-engaged Miss Osier, I think the race should go through both of them. They have shown a taste for the track and distance and they will surely fight it. Untouchable and Navabuena I think they will be their main rivals, but I would not forget the Rockola option, as a surprise.
The day will close on Mariano Hernandez Award, reserved for Non-Winning Trainees and Professional Riders of 12 races from September 1, 2019, for 3-year-old colts and fillies. Nine participants, 1,900 meters of route. Here I really like the option of Alpin King, he liked it a lot in his debut in Spain, improvement is expected and he should be the horse to beat. Spaces such as grandstands, indoor rooms, paddock or winners’ enclosure will have a limited capacity to avoid crowds and will be strictly controlled.
