Peiffer matured for Nora, Moravec reached the very last massacre

The German reign of the fourth part of the Biathlon World Cup was ended by the German Arnd Peiffer, who won Sunday’s 15 km race with a mass start thanks to clean shooting. Michal Krčmář from the Czech pair was more successful in Hochfilzen, Austria, taking 19th place. Ondřej Moravec, who completely walled up the first bed and then ran very slowly, finished thirtieth.

The race reserved for the elite thirty competitors of the overall cup classification started in ideal weather conditions. The running pace was quite slow, the first item was handled by only sixteen biathletes. However, the Czech couple was not one of them. The innkeeper had to go to one penalty round and he belonged to the 23rd position, Moravec even circled three times and left the shooting range hopelessly last. The race was lost to him, even though he sent all the other shots into the target.

The Norwegians settled in the lead. The winners of the sprint and the Lägreid fighters were kept company by compatriots, while Tarjei Boe kept pace with his younger sibling Johannes Thingnes while running and shooting. The innkeeper managed the second bed with zero, which moved him to the eighteenth place.

After the third item, only Lägreid, Peiffer and Eder remained flawless in shooting, who together with the excellent cross-country Ponsiluoma formed a leading group, followed by super fast cross-country skiers led by Norwegian brothers. The innkeeper added 150 meters again, which made it impossible for him to improve his location. The mistake on the last stand took Lägreid’s chance for a golden hat-trick and the podium, while the Austrian Eder was not enough for the top of the ski massacre.

In the end, the German and the Swede shared the championship in the finish, and it was Peiffer who had more strength in the finish line. The innkeeper finished nineteenth. “Unfortunately, I missed it right after the introductory bed, the number one at the beginning was bad. Then I just went down it all, which cost a lot of energy, and when there was a chance to get somewhere to the edge of the top ten, I sent the first shot while standing off the target. It’s just a pity, there was no need for more, “Krčmář told Czech Television.
