Panam Sports, the former Pan American Sports Organization -ODEPA, has ratified the gold medal for the Dominican Ana Rosa, in the category minus 57 kilos of the Judo tournament of the last Pan American Games held in Lima Peru in 2019.
The gold medal is due to the ruling which was final by the Court of Arbitration for Sport that this Monday ratified the sanction imposed by the International Judo Federation in January on the Brazilian Rafaela Silva, who at that time tested positive for a controlled substance.
In the analyzed test, it revealed the presence of the metabolite fenoterol, a substance prohibited both in and out of competition on the list of persecuted substances of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The Dominican was defeated on Saturday, August 10, 2019, by the Brazilian Silva in the final of the category minus 57 kilos, but after disqualifying her, the Dominican was given the medal.
