Liverpool must be willing to draw 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League. Even though the Reds really dominate the game.

Compete at Anfield on Monday (28/12/2020) early morning WIB, Liverpool are very dominant in front of the WBA. Although superior in possession of the ball and shots, Liverpool were only able to score one goal through Sadio Mane in the first half.

The WBA was finally able to force a draw. Is Semi Ajayi, who tore Liverpool’s goal in the 82nd minute.

Liverpool are still at the top of the standings by currently collecting 32 points. The WBA sits in 19th position with eight points.

The course of the match

Liverpool immediately took control of the game from the WBA from the first minute. The Reds’ first shot was released in the sixth minute through Fabinho, but the ball was wide of the goal.

Liverpool managed to tear the WBA goal in the 12th minute. Joel Matip’s long ball was chested down by Sadio Mane and immediately fired a hard shot from close range.

WBA has not been able to press Liverpool for 15 minutes. Juergen Klopp’s team continued to pound through horizontal crosses, which the visitors still managed to break.

Mane threatened Sam Johnstone’s goal in the 20th minute with a header. The effort was not successful after the ball had not yet headed to the target area. Two minutes later Mane threatened again, which this time the ball was blocked by the opponent.

The WBA have 10 players in the final third of the pitch. On the other hand, 10 Liverpool players are in the WBA area.

Mohamed Salah opened fire in the 34th minute. He got the ball from a free kick sweep and immediately shot the ball, but the direction was still slightly bouncing over the WBA goal.

Until the game entered the 40th minute, Liverpool were unable to open another shot at goal after Mane scored a goal. The shot of the Reds players was more off the mark. The first half match was completed 1-0 for Liverpool.

WBA managed to break into the Liverpool goal in the 82nd minute. Through a corner kick scheme, Semi Ajayi’s header hit the goalpost and crossed behind Alisson. In a position that was not quite ready, the ball that slightly hit Alisson entered the goal. Score changed 1-1.

Liverpool pushed back after conceding. The dominant crosses were released to direct the ball to the WBA penalty box.

The WBA is different like the first half. The team made by Sam Allardyce still dared to press, even though they were not left behind.

Sam Johnstone made a great save at the end of the match. He successfully brushed off Roberto Firmino’s header in front of the goal, which had earlier bounced off the ground. The match was completed 1-1.
