NFL: Patrick Mahomes will not be Chiefs starter against Chargers

In a no-stakes game for the Kansas City Chiefs, head coach Andy Reid has made it known that he intends to rest several starters including Patrick Mahomes against the Los Angeles Charges.

With one game to go in their season and with a 14-1 record, the Chiefs are already sure to finish first in the American Association and thus enjoy a pass.

Reid has already confirmed that Chad Henne will be the starting quarterback on Sunday, suggesting Mahomes will stay 260 yards off the 5,000-line for the campaign. The head coach did not want to specify who will be the other starters to benefit from a day off.

Receivers Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins are plagued by injuries, as are running backs Le’Veon Bell and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

As for the Arizona Cardinals, quarterback Kyler Murray was reassuring as he indicated that he will be at his post against for the decisive game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The quarterback injured his leg at the end of his team’s last game in front of the San Francisco 49ers.

The Cards must win in order to obtain a first qualifying for the playoffs since 2015.
