Newcastle Again Memble, Liverpool Must Remain Alert

Liverpool

Liverpool do benefit from Newcastle United’s condition. However, the Reds are banned from Java if they don’t want to have the same fate as when facing West Bromwich Albion.

Liverpool have a golden opportunity to keep their lead at the top of the standings at home to West Brom at Anfield last weekend. Winning 1-0 quickly through Sadio Mane in the 12th minute, Liverpool instead conceded in the 82nd minute through Sami Ajayi and ended 1-1

Well, the opportunity to improve that bad record came in the close year match against Newcastle United, Thursday (31/12/2020) in the morning WIB, at St James’ Park.

Incidentally, Newcastle as the host is also not performing well. They have been winless in their last four matches in all competitions, including being knocked out by Brentford in the Premier League Cup quarter-finals.

This is what Liverpool must maximize to be able to reach the three points, considering they are unbeaten in the last seven duel with Newcastle. There have been five wins and two draws, with the last two wins coming at home to Newcastle.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold warned his Liverpool colleagues not to underestimate Newcastle and be ready to appear 100 percent in order to win.

“I think they have achieved good results lately, they also got results that could be even better,” Trent said on the club’s official website.

“But, in general, I think they performed well, brought in some new players and have proven that they are a good team, and are ready to face anything,” continued Trent.

“It will be a difficult match. There is no easy match in the Premier League, we never thought that.”

“However, I think we understand that if we can perform 100 percent, then we will be confident to win – as long as we keep performing 100 percent,” he concluded ahead of Liverpool’s match against Newcastle.
