NBA schedule: Christmas Games probably fixed

Also in 2020 there will be some big hits on the NBA schedule at Christmas. The highlight of the Christmas Games is apparently the duel between the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers for superstar LeBron James. The rest of the games are tough too.

This is what Adrian Wojnarowski reports from ESPN with reference to anonymous sources. Accordingly, Doncic will celebrate his Christmas Games debut on the night of December 25th – and that against the reigning champion with LeBron and new Laker Dennis Schröder. Tip-off of the game is planned for 2 a.m. German time.

According to the report, the start of the NBA Christmas Games will be contested by the New Orleans Pelicans with Zion Williamson against last year’s finals participant Miami Heat (6 p.m. German time). The Pels were allowed to run at Christmas last year, but Zion had to pass injured.

Stephen Curry and Co. will then make their comeback at the Christmas Games. At 8.30 p.m. German time, the Warriors will be guests at the Milwaukee Bucks around MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, followed by the duel between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics (11 p.m. German time). The Nets start the season with high expectations, with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving starting their first season together. At Christmas it’s up against Irving’s ex-team.

The end of the Christmas Games 2020 will be contested by the LA Clippers, who will be guests at the Denver Nuggets (4.30 a.m. German time). This means that the second playoff round in 2020 will be relaunched, when the Nuggets Kawhi Leonard and Co. shocked and turned a 1-3 deficit. Then Clippers coach Doc Rivers had to leave. With newcomer Serge Ibaka, the Clippers want to start another attack on the title.

A few days before Christmas, the new season in the best basketball league in the world should begin. The season opening is currently planned for December 22nd, but it is not yet known who will meet at the beginning.
