One day before the start of the preparatory games for the new season, eight more players in the North American professional basketball league NBA tested positive for the corona virus.
As the league announced, the total number of players infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus increased to 56. The names of the players who tested positive were not disclosed.
The first 48 positive cases came from the first test phase between November 24th and December 1st, when the teams started training. The new cases have been identified through testing a total of 541 players since December 2nd.
In the NBA, the so-called preseason begins on December 11th. The regular season starts with two games on December 22nd.
