Marquez started his journey in MotoGP in the 2013 season. The Baby Alien-nicknamed Marquez- immediately made a sensation by winning MotoGP in his debut season. (Also read: Becoming the MotoGP World Champion, Joan Mir is hesitant to use number 1).
The Spanish racer also made history for being the only debutant who immediately won the title. Marquez continued his glory in the 2014 season by winning the title again.
However, The Baby Alien failed to defend the title the following season. Marquez lost to Jorge Lorenzo’s competition. After that failure, Marquez’s pace was unstoppable by any racer. (Also read: Dorna subsidizes the MotoGP satellite team for Rp112 billion).
For four consecutive seasons from 2016 to 2019, Marquez dominated MotoGP. Overall, Marquez won six titles out of seven possible.
However, Marquez was unable to continue his glory this season. The Spanish racer had a bad accident at the inaugural race, the 2020 Spanish MotoGP, so that his right arm was broken. Marquez’s failure this season does not diminish its value in Crutchlow’s eyes. The British man said Marquez was the greatest racer on the road, although not everyone would admit it.
“It’s simple, (Marquez) is better than everyone else. The problem is in MotoGP and other world championships, people do not accept that this is the truth, “said Crutchlow, quoted from Tutto Motori Web, Sunday (20/12/2020).
Marquez has just had his third operation a few weeks ago. The operation was carried out in order to speed up Marquez’s recovery.
Even so, the Spaniard is expected to have missed several series of races at the start of the 2021 season. The worst possibility is that Marquez will miss another full season in MotoGP 2021, but it all depends on his condition in the next few months.
