In France there is one around a football match in the top division greenkeeper passed away. The caretaker was hit by a falling light installation, which had driven onto the field in the Ligue 1 after the last whistle at FC Lorient-Stade Rennais.
The man was resuscitated by doctors from both teams and then taken to a hospital. There he succumbed to his injuries.
According to French media, the victim is a 38-year-old man who worked as a volunteer at FC Lorient. He leaves a wife and three children.
Images show one of the light installations lying on its side in the grass. The constructions with special lamps are used by many European professional clubs for grass care. Police are investigating how the accident could have happened.
