Lakers star LeBron James, winner of a new NBA coronation, was named sportsman of the year 2020 by the American magazine Time. Also recently honored by the sports magazine Sports Illustrated, LeBron James is elected sportsman of the year both for his sports results and for his societal commitment. The basketball player thus won a fourth NBA coronation in ten finals, with a different third team, at the end of an unprecedented season, still dominating his subject at 35 years old.
Time Magazine also salutes the basketballer’s commitment to the vote, through the association “More Than an Vote”, calling on African-Americans to register on the electoral rolls and to surrender massively at the polls during the presidential election. James supported the action “by recruiting other athletes for the cause” and by “promoting More Than a Vote to its more than 48 million followers on Twitter,” said Time.
