Last match report – Australia vs. India 2.T20I 2020

Throw India decided on Bowl vs. Australia

India’s captain Virat Kohli chose to send Australia to the SCG’s second T20I, with Matthew Wade standing in for the injured Aaron Finch as captain.

Wade stood up for Finch, which is likely a one-game commission selected before Steven Smith, which was a potential opportunity for him to lead Australia for the first time since its Newlands ban in 2018.

Another change has resulted in Wade moving up the order in addition to Marcus Stoinis – the role he played with honors for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League – rather than as the hosts lost the opening T20I beating in middle order in Canberra on Friday night.

Australia also miss Mitchell Starc after leaving the squad on compassionate grounds with a family illness and Josh Hazlewood was also left out, opening opportunities for Daniel Sams and Andrew Tye.

Aside from starting with Yuzvendra Chahal in XI for Ravindra Jadeja this time, India made two other changes: Shreyas Iyer for Manish Pandey, who has an elbow niggle, and Shardul Thakur for the rested Mohammed Shami.
