Lassina Traoré, the Burkinabé bomber

A name to remember, Lassina Traoré, not to be confused with the former Ivorian international of AS Monaco, Lacina Traoré (30 years old). The young Burkinabe international is having a very good season with Ajax Amsterdam, in the elite Dutch championship.

Only 19 years old, Lassina Traoré is the most prolific Burkinabé striker this season in the various European championships having scored 7 goals and delivered 4 assists in 10 games with Ajax Amsterdam in Eredivisie (Dutch D1). He also distinguished himself with the Ajacides club in the Champions League (1 goal and 2 assists in 5 matches) and in the national cup (1 goal and 1 assist in 2 matches). In total, he already has 9 goals and as many assists in 17 games played.

By scoring a quintuplet against Venlo (13-0), as part of the 6th day of the Dutch elite championship, last October 24, the young Lassina Traoré entered the record books. Only two teenagers have also scored five times in a match in this championship, notably Marco van Basten (Ajax, 1985) and Hans Venneker (Feyenoord, 1964). ” I have always been a fan of Traoré. He scores five goals in a single game. If you leave him alone, he will be the Eredivisie’s top scorer “, Said the former Dutch international striker, Pierre van Hooijdonk.

Following in the footsteps of Steven Pienaar and Thulani Serero, Lassina Traoré is one of the many players who have passed through Ajax Cape Town in South Africa, which has been a partner of Ajax for over 20 years. After being spotted at Rahimo FC (D1 Burkina Faso), he was placed in the prestigious South African academy of Ajacides. After hardening in the rainbow country, he was offered a contract by Ajax when he was 18 years old.

A high quality striker who has already demonstrated things at the highest level. The precocious Lassina Traoré made his debut with the Stallions of Burkina Faso, at just 16 years old, like his cousin Bertrand Isidore Traoré (2011). The young Lassina Traoré received his first selection in the Burkina Faso team in a friendly against Benin on May 4, 2017. He scored a goal and the two teams neutralized each other (1-1).

On May 21 of the same year, he obtained his second selection, against the same team. Traoré Lassina is again in evidence by achieving a double (2-2). And since he was recruited by Ajax, the Burkinabé international (12 caps and 5 goals) is considered by all observers as a great hope for African football.
