KC Jones, Celtics and NBA legend, has died

The Christmas day began with sad news, after Boston announced the death of the legendary KC Jones, a true legend not only in the history of the Celtics, but of the entire NBA.

Jones earned a place in immortality For various reasons, one of them winning eight consecutive championships as a player, of course all with the Boston Celtics jersey in that legendary team that Bill Russell commanded, among others. But his success was not only within the court, as a coach he achieved two other championships for the Celtics organization, commanding only one of the best teams in history such as the Celtics of the 80s with the Big Three composed of Larry Bird, Robert Parish and Kevin McHale. Jones took Boston on four trips to the NBA Finals and won two championships in 1984 and 1986.

So, of the 17 Celtics titles, in 10 of them he was involved.

KC Jones is one of seven players who have managed to be NCAA champion, NBA champion, and Olympic champion.

In recent years, the Celtics legend fought a battle against Alzheimer’s disease, which he finally lost on December 25.
