Mehmet Scholl criticized the new BVB head coach Edin Terzić. Jürgen Klopp now jumps to the side. In a statement he counters Scholl and accuses him of ignorance.

There were clear words with which Mehmet Scholl criticized the new BVB head coach Edin Terzić: “There’s not much in his words,” Scholl told the “Bild” newspaper. “It’s like saying the sun will go on tomorrow. His analysis is intangible.”

Terzić, 38 years old, has been Borussia Dortmund’s new coach since December 13th. Now one of his predecessors jumped to the side. Jürgen Klopp, who has been coach at the Premier League club Liverpool since 2015, is apparently annoyed by Scholl’s billing and shoots back against “Sport1”: “Mehmet Scholl feels called to break the baton over young, German coaches. I am extremely reluctant to express myself about such things, but all the time he talks about people he doesn’t know. ”

Klopp, one of the most successful German coaches at all, doesn’t leave Mehmet Scholl happy. “What raison d’être does Mehmet Scholl have to judge about coaches? That would really interest me. It’s like talking about car manufacturing. I have no idea about that either.” Then he added: “He tried it as a coach, he couldn’t do it, and now he’s talking about it as if he had eaten wisdom with a spoon.”

Mehmet Scholl: TV expert instead of trainer

Mehmet Scholl began his trainer training in 2008, in 2012 he successfully completed the football teacher course of the German Football Association (DFB). At that time he was the coach of the second team at FC Bayern, where he enjoyed many successes as an active player. However, since summer 2013 he has been without a coaching job, since then he has mainly appeared as a TV expert for ARD.

There he regularly caused controversy. At the 2012 European Championship, he criticized the then German national player Mario Gomez: “In between I was afraid that he was sore and had to be turned around.” Scholl later apologized for this formulation.
