John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins will finally debut for the Houston Rockets on Thursday night. The two ex-all stars were last in quarantine for a week, although they never tested positive. This caused both displeasure.
“I was really angry, I don’t want to pretend that. I was beside myself,” said Wall after his first training session with the team after his quarantine. Wall and cousins went into isolation a week ago after staying in an apartment with Kenyon Martin Jr. to get their hair cut. Martin subsequently tested positive, but Wall and Cousins did not get infected.
Nevertheless, the two ex-all stars had to be in quarantine for seven days according to the NBA protocol. “I didn’t do anything wrong,” wondered Wall. “I only got my hair cut in my apartment. A colleague was positive the next day, I had four or five negative tests.”
Wall also stated that he had ordered a hairstyle especially for his haircut, which also tested negative. “It was very frustrating. I wanted to shoot around after my workout and then I was told I had to go home in quarantine. I couldn’t believe it.”
On the other hand, Cousins first took refuge in Irone and spoke of a great time he had at home. The center then stated that it was extremely difficult to just sit around in your own apartment. “It’s hard for everyone, but that’s especially true for athletes,” Boogie continued.
Due to Martin’s positive corona finding, more players had to be quarantined, which is why the Rockets could not provide eight players for the opening game against OKC.
