Jeff Teague on how Brad Stevens “saved his life”

Eager to find a team that plays the leading roles, while having a significant role, Jeff Teague chose the Celtics, and Brad Stevens obviously played a role in his choice:

“I’m glad to be here. I’ve had the opportunity to talk to guys who have played for Brad, I’m very close to Shelvin Mack, I’ve known Gordon (Hayward) for years, and they’ve always had nothing but good things to say to his subject. So I’m excited to be a part of this team. ” Teague

If he never played for the former coach of Butler in NCAA, Stevens has played a very important role in his career, and even in his life by his admission. While he was recruited by college in high school, including Butler, there was a major concern …

I’ve known Brad since high school and it turns out he’s basically changed my life. Because I was following a path on which I didn’t give too much importance to school. I used to play basketball, but school wasn’t really my thing. So in Butler when I was a sophomore (16) he took me to a room where my father was and he showed him my notes. I had been hiding my notebooks for years. And he said, ‘If you want a chance to play NCAA basketball, you’re going to have to get your grades up.’ And my father, who hadn’t seen my notes for a few years, was really angry. I had to pull myself together, refocus. And every time I’ve played the Celtics for the past few years, I would say to Brad, ‘Hey, thank you for saving my life.’ And he was looking at me like, stop. It was really an important moment for me. ” Teague
