The Jags are now 1-14 after a 41-17 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday. They will face their divisional rival the Indianapolis Colts next week.

The team are expected to draft Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who has been widely regarded as the job’s best prospect for years. As a starter, he boasted of a 38-1 record at Clemson.

“I’m really up to the challenge no matter what the challenge,” Lawrence told Dan Patrick earlier this month when asked about his expectations in the NFL.

The Jags started their season giving Gardner Minshew II a chance to prove himself worthy of the franchise’s quarterback spot in the future, but he failed to make his case enough to stay on board. . Minshew was drafted by the organization in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

For most of the season, the Jets were scheduled to finish with the No. 1 pick in the draft, but after starting the season 0-13, they’ve won back-to-back games in the past two weeks.

The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 29 through May 1, 2021.
