Ja Morant will only be out for three to five weeks

The Memphis Grizzlies are in luck. Ja Morant’s ankle injury is not serious and will keep him out for three to five weeks. The player retired in a wheelchair in the Grizzlies’ 111-116 win over the Nets on Monday, and diagnostic tests revealed he suffers from a Grade 2 sprained left ankle.

Morant started the course with a 44 point display with Memphis. In his debut year he averaged 17.8 points and 7.3 assists per game with a success rate of 47.7% that drove him in the fight for the rookie of the year award, who won ahead of Zion Williamson.

So far, the Grizzlies have won one game and lost two so far this year, and Morant’s downside can be very sensitive for a team that once struggled to make the playoffs in the torneo play-in introduced by the NBA.
