Indoor sports: recovery authorized for minors from December 15

Four more days. Tuesday, December 15, as initially planned, minors will be able to resume their indoor sports activities. Doubt remained after the announcements made this Thursday by Prime Minister Jean Castex, on the next stages of deconfinement.

After the resumption for minors of outdoor sports since November 28, practitioners of indoor sports activities will be able to return to their gymnasium, swimming pool or other enclosure. This is the announcement that was made this Friday by the Ministry of Sports. This decision confirms the will of Emmanuel Macron, the President of the Republic, to make possible a wider sporting practice for minors. A decision that was taken on November 17 by the Head of State, subject to health conditions.

Some details still being finalized

If PE or extracurricular courses have never been stopped, club practice was prohibited at the time of the second confinement on October 29. In fact, as is already the case for outdoor sports, activities can resume next Tuesday for minors in strict compliance with barrier gestures. This means that for this recovery, no contact is possible between the practitioners.

This obligation concerns all indoor activities including that of combat sports such as judo. Some details are still being finalized for these new rules applicable from December 15, says the cabinet of Roxana Maracineanu.

Regarding professional sport, stadium stands remain closed and football and rugby in particular will continue to play behind closed doors at least until January 7, said Jean Castex during a press conference on Thursday. Likewise, the reopening of the ski lifts has been announced for January 7 at best in ski resorts.
