Four Hills Tournament: Karl Geiger triumphs at the start in Oberstdorf

Dhe Oberstdorf Karl Geiger won the opening competition of the Four Hills Tournament in his hometown. The 27-year-old, who became a father two weeks ago, relegated Kamil Stoch from Poland and Marius Lindvik from Norway to second and third place. Co-favorite Markus Eisenbichler could not intervene in the battle for the podium after a bad first jump, but tried to limit the damage in the second round.

Geiger jumped 127 and 136.5 meters in the snowy Allgäu. Eisenbichler finally climbed to 142 meters after 118 meters in the first round, which brought him up from 27th place to fifth.
