Formula 1: End of career in F1 for Romain Grosjean, who will not be able to race in Abu Dhabi

Romain Grosjean will leave F1 on a heartbreak. The Frenchman, who hoped to be able to bow out in Abu Dhabi on December 13, announced on Sunday that he would not participate in the last Grand Prix of the season, due to lack of recovery from his huge accident in Sakhir (Bahrain). The Haas driver thus ends his career in Formula 1, where he made a brief debut with Renault in 2009, before racing for Lotus (2012-2015) then Haas.

“I won’t be able to run in Abu Dhabi, he said in a video posted on social media. We tried everything, we waited as much as possible, but for the rest, for the rest of my life, for my left hand, we have to be careful. I’m going home with Marion (his wife) at home, see my children, and work on the future to rediscover the pleasure of winning races as quickly as possible and recover all the functions of my left hand. It’s a tough decision, I didn’t expect to end my F1 career like this, but I think it’s for the best. “
