Forget Fulham, Liverpool Directly Focus on Tottenham

Liverpool

Liverpool do not want to lament for the draw against Fulham. Because, the Reds have been waiting for a strong opponent next week, Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool visited Craven Cottage, Sunday (13/12/2020) evening WIB. Three points are the target of Liverpool considering they can control the top of the standings following the 1-1 draw obtained by Spurs at Crystal Palace headquarters.

Having a good record against a promoted team, Liverpool are certainly more confident to beat Fulham, who have won just two times this season. However, Fulham was surprising because it was able to press Liverpool during the first half.

Bobby Reid then put Fulham 1-0 up in the 25th minute and made Liverpool difficult. The goal Liverpool had been waiting for was finally obtained in the 79th minute when Mohamed Salah scored a goal from the spot.

The score 1-1 must be brought home by Liverpool and they failed to shift Tottenham from the top of the standings. Liverpool both have 25 points, but lose on goal difference.

It is disappointing because Liverpool for the first time cannot beat the promoted team since 2017. However, Liverpool are prohibited from being disappointed for a long time because there is already a strong team waiting at Anfield, Thursday (17/12/2020) early morning WIB tomorrow, Tottenham.

Yes, Tottenham are indeed on fire with Jose Mourinho because they are unbeaten in their nine away matches, the longest record since April 2018. Moreover, their attack line is so powerful with the combination of Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.

“During the first 30 minutes, we played badly. We could have lost in that period. We were better after half an hour of the game. The second half was better. We should have scored more goals,” manager Juergen Klopp was quoted as saying BBC Sport.

“We immediately moved on. Tottenham is the next challenge,” continued Klopp.
