For the sake of MotoGP prestige, Dovizioso asks Valentino Rossi not to retire: Okezone Sports

FORLIMPOPOLI – Italian racer Andrea Dovizioso advised Valentino Rossi not to rush into retirement. He considered that the prestige of MotoGP still depended on the racer nicknamed The Doctor.

After Valentino Rossi decided to stay put next season, the challenge will come again in 2022. This is because the Italian racer only underwent a one-year contract at Petronas Yamaha SRT.

Because of this, rumors about Valentino Rossi’s future will continue to emerge. However, many people feel that Valentino Rossi must remain in MotoGP. His compatriot, Dovizioso, was no exception.

The former Ducati racer did not deny that Valentino Rossi’s figure has a strong magnet. Even in recent years, the success of the MotoGP title has always depended on the existence of Valentino Rossi.

Despite his age, Valentino Rossi has entered his old age, but Dovizioso has never doubted the figure of VR46. Whatever the outcome, the 41-year-old racer will remain in the spotlight on the track.

“Valentino has always had a big effect both positively and negatively. But in the middle of the stage, whether he wins or not wins, ”said Dovizioso, quoting from Tuttomotoriweb, Thursday (17/12/2020).

Therefore, Dovizioso asked Valentino Rossi not to retire yet. However, on the one hand, he feels confident that Valentino Rossi will try his best to stay in MotoGP, because The Doctor has a love for this sport.

“If he stops, I think it will be a big change for everyone,” added the 34-year-old racer.

“But, I really thought he would do everything he could not to quit. If he manages to be a little more competitive, he will continue to race, “continued the racer who decided to take a sabbatical for MotoGP 2021.

In the next season, Valentino Rossi will still be a MotoGP racer joining the Petronas Yamaha Team. This will be interesting to follow, because so far he is known as a Yamaha factory team racer.
