“For a period, I needed to exercise so much, I did rugby, handball, judo the same year, and ski in winter” – Rugby Scapulaire

Interviewed in the podcast The tie, Jean-Baptiste Dubié returned to his need to exercise as a child, which led him to practice several sports at the same time:

We stayed six years at Pamiers, it was through the work of my father who was called to change. It was six beautiful years in Pamiers where we lived in the city. I was at Notre-Dame private school, not because I was a wanker but because she was next door, I attacked rugby there and we stayed for six years. I was 10 years old when we arrived in Mont-de-Marsan, the year of CM2. At Pamiers, I touched all sports a bit. For a period, I needed to exercise so badly, I did rugby, handball, judo the same year, and ski in the winter. They had to stop because I had adductor tendonitis because I was doing too much sport but I was enjoying myself. Handball I loved it because it was quite similar to rugby and then it’s an indoor sport, it’s nice and there was the judo dojo which was also there. I also did six beautiful years of judo where you learn rigor, you learn respect. I competed, I remember it too much but my parents told me that you are all alone and that I was in my bubble, very serious, I fought and I won. I had a lot of medals, I wasn’t too bad. You were competing, it was great and every year you passed in front of the masters to be able to validate your belts. I quit but I think it would have been nice to continue until the black belt. In Mont-de-Marsan when I arrived, I did not find anything, I went back to play handball, I did some training, the team was average block rugby, and there I met my childhood friends who are still there and I call them every day.
