Football: The dream eleven of the year in Ligue 1 by the regional daily press

At the initiative of Progress, the regional daily press elected its 2020 team, the last act of a truncated but not without flavor.

2020 is coming to an end and that’s fine. Between the coronavirus pandemic and the “rapetous” of Mediapro, Ligue 1 has paid a high price in recent months. But because the ball kept spinning, Progress did not deviate from the rule of the eleven of the year before turning the page.

Our colleagues from the Lyon region surveyed all of the regional daily press concerned by L1, i.e. 22 titles including Free Midi, including Toulouse and Amiens, relegated last April.

The eleventh of the year 2020 according to the PQR, on an initiative of our colleagues from Progress.

These journalists closest to their clubs were invited to designate a trifecta for each post, in a 4-3-3. The first player cited receives three points, then two and one unit.

Mbappé and Savanier, victims of their success

The results of the consultation reflect this year without undeniable domination, with presence in Lille, Monaco or Rennes but all the same a Parisian influence surprisingly without Mbappé. The price of success for the prodigy of PSG (15 goals in L1 in 2020), the most cited player among the 119 names given but a victim of his versatility on the front of the attack and a “dilution” of votes. Hence his astonishing presence on two occasions in the “eleven bis”.

A paradox which also applies to Téji Savanier (40 points), mentioned more than Renato Sanches (37), but at the three middle positions unlike Lille.

With 6 players cited, Montpellier nevertheless places its trainer Michel Der Zakarian and its center forward Andy Delort in 4th place in their category. As for Nîmes, Bernardoni and Ferhat are the two names retained by a PQR convinced by the referee Stéphanie Frappart. A good way to whistle the end of a year apart.

The team bis: Mandanda – Dubois, Fonte, Botman, Amavi – Kamara, Verratti, Aouar – Mbappé, Bamba, Mbappé.
