This Tuesday the controversy exploded over the case of Thomas Heurtel, player of the FC Barcelona basketball court with whom the termination of his contract was agreed. Faced with this situation, the anger of the Barça club would have been enormous and caused an even more controversial decision: to Thomas Heurtel, who had traveled to Istanbul with the rest of the team (who played against him Anadolu Efes) in order to supposedly sign with Fenerbahçe, he was not allowed to return by plane with the rest of the team when it was known that he had lied to be able to sign for Real Madrid. The second point clarifies that FC Barcelona allowed Thomas Heurtel to travel to Istanbul with the rest of the team to take advantage of the journey and sign for Fenerbahçe, club from the same city where the Catalans played. “On Monday the Club allows the player, who was not called up for the game against Anadolu Efes, to travel with the team to Istanbul to solve his professional future, just as he and his representative requested,” said the second point.
The third point clarifies that it was the player himself who asked to have a free pass to resolve his future during the trip and that, therefore, he was no longer linked to the rest of the expedition who had traveled to Istanbul to play. “On Tuesday the player asked the club for permission to make a parallel life to the team during this trip and to be able to resolve his professional future,” read the third.
The fourth point explains the controversy of the return plane, ensuring that the club did not leave the player lying down as it was published. “On Tuesday at noon, the Club and the player’s agent broke up the negotiations and began to continue talking. Given the situation generated by this breakdown in the negotiations, and not being under the team’s discipline in this match, it was decided that the player does not return to the group. The player was not unattended in any case and he was given all the facilities – hotel night, regular flight ticket and all the relevant documentation – to be able to travel and return to Barcelona the next day “, secure the text.
