Dendoncker and teammates are no longer allowed to go to the Wolverhampton supermarket | Premier League

Leander Dendoncker is no longer allowed to do his own shopping. Wolverhampton hopes with that ban to prevent an outbreak of the corona virus within the club.

The corona virus is rampant in Great Britain: the gates of the English stadiums swung open again at the beginning of this month, but in the meantime only Liverpool and Everton are allowed to welcome fans.

The Premier League clubs are now testing twice a week to avoid any more games being postponed during this busy Christmas season. But in Wolverhampton they go one step further: players are no longer allowed to go to the supermarket to reduce the risk of contamination.

“We want to protect ourselves,” said coach Nuno Espirito Santo. “Our chefs again put together boxes with all the basic needs. This way the players or their family members no longer have to go to the supermarket.”
