The eighth day of the competition has as its main course five mountain prizes, starting with the first category port in Alto de la Virgen at kilometer 22. From now on comes a sustained ascent that can cause wear among the group of title contenders up to kilometer 95.
Then four mountain awards are presented, one fourth and three third category in a span of 30 kilometers to finish off the fraction with a descent to the finish line in Concepción.
