Chelsea U23 6-1 Manchester United U23 highlights and reaction as Hugill Trostziel scores in heavy defeat

The Manchester United U23s were beaten by Premier League 2 leaders Chelsea at King’s Meadow.

Neil Wood named Facundo Pellistri the star of the first team to face the leaders of the table today as well as Teden Mengi and Hannibal Mejbri.

Pellistri had scored a goal in his last three games for the development team after hitting the bottom after his summer transfer from Penarol.

United conceded two goals within two minutes, which set the tone for a disappointing performance in the capital.

Joe Hugill, who was under contract in the U18 in the summer, came back late from the bank to give the visitors some comfort.

United U23s now have a longer hiatus that will not return to action against Leicester until January 18. A trip to Liverpool follows.
