Bottas makes the penultimate pole and Sainz will come out eighth

The Finnish pilot Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) has left the pole of the Sakhir Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the World Cup, ahead of his new teammate George Russell, while the Spanish pilot Carlos Sainz (McLaren) will come out eighth.

The fight against the clock and on the grid has led to Bottas’ reaction, after suffering on Friday in the freestyle and starting to find himself before qualifying in the third practice. Russell, who replaces world champion Lewis Hamilton, down by coronavirus, has dropped to 26 thousandths. Third will be Max Verstappen, also less than a tenth of a bottle.
