On St. Nicholas Day, Medi Bayreuth meets the reigning German champion and cup winner Alba Berlin in the Oberfrankenhalle. This ends the 14-day international break in the basketball Bundesliga for the Wagnerstadt-based company, according to a message from Medi Bayreuth. After three match days, Alba Berlin is currently in third place in the table, Medi Bayreuth in eighth.

While the Upper Franconians around coach Raoul Korner had two weeks to prepare for the game against the capital city, the “Albatrosses” were already in demand twice in the Euro League this week – in Italy and Spain. After the game against Bayreuth (6 p.m.) the Berliners will continue on Tuesday (December 8th, 2020) in Ludwigsburg. A total of 13 games are planned for Alba in December. There have not been more competitive games in a month for any team in the history of the Easy-Credit Basketball-Bundesliga.
Bayreuth in the Christmas jersey
As a tradition, Medi Bayreuth will again play in a special Christmas jersey this year in the Advent season. For the seventh time, the Upper Franconians will be on the stage with the hashtag #mediChristmas on their jerseys, but this time too, the people of Wagnerstadt have to forego their loud “Upper Franconian Hell”.
