Former 4th world player in singles and currently consultant for the Amazon Prime channel, Greg Rusedski, who has dual Canadian and British nationality, recently spoke about the career of his compatriot Andy Murray. Admiringly, the native of Montreal believes that Great Britain will have to wait before seeing a champion of his caliber.
“You can review his whole story and the truth is he’s had an amazing career. He managed to win the gold medal at the Olympics, twice, which other tennis players like Federer never did. He also won twice Wimbledon, the US Open, the Masters final. The final of these ATP Finals, in 2016 at the O2 Arena in London against Djokovic, was sheer madness. It was probably the best game we have had on this court in the past eleven years. It will take a long time to see a British player achieve a career similar to Murray’s ”.
