ATP> Piatti: “What is important is not to train your player but to educate him”

Riccardo Piatti is a recognized and renowned coach. It must be said that he has often had good results. We all remember the remarkable work done with Ivan Ljubicic but especially with Richard Gasquet who had the best period of his career with the Italian. Today at the bedside of the young Jannik Sinner, Riccardo kindly defined in a few words, for the ATP site, what seemed essential to him in his profession. It’s a bit like the speech of a certain Toni Nadal.

“For me, what is important is not to train your player but to educate him. With all my players, I have always tried to manage their existing talent. These players are all very good in general. What we have to do, or at least what I like to do, is put everything in order, bring out what is already in them. The more champions get better, the more they need someone who is there to educate them in this game, and I think that’s what I’m doing with Jannik right now. ”
