The LNBP is giving us some intense Playoffs with this new format of games on consecutive nights and series to win two games out of three possible. At the moment we already have two teams classified to the Zone Finals and we will have a new champion in Mexican basketball. Fuerza Regia defeated the Chihuahua Dorados in the second game of the series in a match full of drama until the last moment. The final score was 90 to 89, so the Sultana del Norte team is already in the East Zone Final.
Zacatecas managed to win, 86 to 79, forcing a third game to define the rival of Fuerza Regia in the Final series of the East Zone. The same happened with Queretaro that rescued the victory against Aguacateros by a score of 99-92, so this series also extends to a game three to define the winner.
The highlight of the night was the clash between the current LNBP champion, the Soles de Mexicali, and one of the stars of this season, the Astros de Jalisco. The Guadalajara team surprised the cachanilla in the second game of the series by beating them by a score of 96 to 85, and thus sweep this series of two games. Fuerza Regia and Astros are already waiting for a rival, so a shout day awaits us in Monterrey and Querétaro to define the LNBP Zone Finals.
