US election drama: Trump claims victory in contested states for himself – politics

Which gives the Republicans hope

It has not yet been decided who the state will be North Carolina wins – but Donald Trump is here with 50.1 percent to 48.7 percent of the vote in front of Joe Biden. 95 percent of the ballot papers have already been counted. There are still around 117,000 absentee votes. The state will accept postal votes for up to one week after election day. However, it is considered unlikely that all requested postal ballot papers will be submitted. Catching up the gap should be difficult for Biden, so it reports the “New York Times”. Steven Greene, a professor of political science at North Carolina State University, told the newspaper that it did not seem likely that there would be enough votes left to change the outcome of the North Carolina presidential election.

Trump is also ahead in the all-important swing state, Pennsylvania, currently quite clearly with almost ten percentage points ahead. However, only 78 percent of the ballot papers are counted in the state. In Georgia, too, the Republicans are currently leading by around two percentage points, eight percent of the ballot papers have yet to be counted. If Trump wins Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia, that’s not enough for him to win: He would have 264 of the electorate on his side, but he needs 270 to win. So Trump would need another victory in the states in which he has so far been head-to-head with Joe Biden: Nevada, Wisconsin , Michigan.
