Ole Gunnar Solskjaer commented on the temperamental nature of Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United. For him, it is not a problem and a motivation for his team.
Fernandes is known as a player who does not hesitate to pour out his feelings when something goes wrong in his team. Starting from criticizing teammates, to vent their emotions in the dressing room.
Even though he got a bad mark because of his temperament, Fernandes was able to answer it with stunning action on the field. Since signing MU from Sporting CP in early 2020, he has recorded 22 goals and 13 assists from 36 appearances in all competitions.
Most recently, Bruno Fernandes managed to motivate his team when MU was behind 0-2 from Southampton in the first round of the Premier League match on Sunday (29/11/2020). The 26-year-old midfielder scored a goal back at the start of the second half, before finally Edinson Cavani’s two goals sealed the Red Devils 3-2 victory.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as MU manager does not question Fernandes’s character. He doesn’t even mind if Fernandes lets out his emotions, as long as it’s for the benefit of the team.
“In a hot situation people are allowed to express frustration and anger, because it is solely for the benefit of the team. But it must be done immediately, if it continues then the scenario is different,” said Solskjaer. Daily Star.
“I’ve been in the team and I like teams that have inner justice where it’s not just the manager or the coaches who scream. I want the players to take responsibility and put other players in their place when needed,” he added.
“They are out there fighting for a goal and that is so the team can win. Every now and then you have to be on fire when you deserve it,”.
“Bruno is not only excited, he also gives instructions to other players. We can learn from his mentality and mindset. If it’s 4-0, he wants 5-0. He always wants the team to improve,” said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about Bruno’s temperament. Fernandes at MU.
