Detroit, OKC and Dallas have agreed on a 3-team deal:
– Dallas receives James Johnson (d’OKC)
– Detroit receives Delon Wright (from Dallas)
– OKC receives Trevor Ariza (from Detroit), Justin Jackson (from Dallas) and a draft pick
Dallas is giving itself a little flexibility for the summer of 2021 by getting rid of Wright’s contract (2 years remaining) to recover Johnson’s expiring one and reportedly intend to keep the latter. On the Pistons side – who picked up Josh Richardson this week – the payroll is lowered and Wright will be reunited with his former coach in Toronto Dwane Casey.
For the Thunder, it’s hard to imagine Ariza (moved from Portland to Houston then Detroit and OKC this week!) Or Jackon in the franchise plans. We are probably closer to a simple desire on the part of Sam Presti to add a draft round to his impressive collection.
