If those responsible at the German Football Association (DFB) are wondering whether they can go to the European Championship next summer with Joachim Löw as national coach after the 0: 6 in Spain, it is always a question of the alternatives. And money. After the qualifying round of the World Champions two and a half years ago at the World Cup in Russia, the association was financially bound to the obvious question of personnel changes at the top. The former DFB President Reinhard Grindel had extended the contract with the national coach for two more years until the summer of 2022 a month before the tournament, and that of DFB Director Oliver Bierhoff until mid-2024.
